Welcome to The Art of Nature

My subject matter is mainly wildlife. Occasionally I will also paint western/native american pieces. I work in oils. It is my intention with this blog to keep viewers updated on new pieces, post examples of my inspiration and occasionally show a new painting from start to finish! Remember this one? I started it a while ago. It took a while for it to start "feeling right" but it is finally coming together. I know it looks a little strange with no head but I am working from the bottom up on this one. I have the underpainting on the head complete. This piece is 36X24 on hardboard. It will be a simple yet hopefully powerful painting.

This is a great work of art! I like how you did the feathers as well as the talons/claw. Thanks for sharing this!
